People Operations Manager

Full-Time in New York, NY - Mid Level - Operations - $100k - $120k

We are seeking an experienced and motivated People Operations Manager to join our team. Based in New York, NY, this role will oversee day-to-day HR operations while driving initiatives that enhance employee engagement, development, and organizational culture. You will work closely with leadership and employees to ensure operational excellence, foster a positive work environment, and support the growth of our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Administration: Manage benefits programs, including enrollment, compliance, and communication of offerings to employees.
  • Leave Administration & Time Off Tracking: Oversee leave policies, track time off balances, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • 401(k) Compliance: Ensure proper administration of the company’s 401(k) plan, including compliance with regulations and timely communication with employees.
  • Performance Management: Lead the performance management process to ensure a consistent and constructive approach across the organization.
  • Onboarding & HRIS Management: Oversee onboarding processes, including entering new employees into our HRIS system (Paylocity) and ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Training & Development: Design and implement training programs and a curriculum that supports employee development and career pathing.
  • Cultural Initiatives: Collaborate with leadership to plan and execute initiatives that enhance workplace culture and align with company values.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor, addressing employee concerns and fostering a positive, productive work environment.
  • Job Descriptions & Career Pathing: Develop and maintain job descriptions, supporting organizational design and clear career development pathways.
  • Compliance: Ensure HR policies and procedures are compliant with local, state, and federal laws.
  • HR Metrics & Reporting: Track and analyze HR data to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 4–6 years of experience in HR, including benefits administration, performance management, and employee relations.
  • 3+ years experience in a people capacity within a creative agency or professional services environment.
  • Experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS systems is a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace for collaboration and productivity tools.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
